Delusion between us and them

Hi.....Hello.... It's me Rameesha Ishtiaq again, and spend 6 month in USA so far, my life is going great in here. And should be because I never believe in media and those thing what people said about other culture and other countries. The thing is in which you really trust? and if you really have an interest to figure-out what the reality is than you need to involve in community, need to meet people not only those who are like you, but some another kind as a religion as a personality as a life style. These thought I have and how can I do al that  staff KL-YES help me a lot. So as a culture exchange student I came here to share the culture with American, everyone who has some misconception about Pakistan. Pakistan because may be most of the people are muslims and some of the American like Muslims (terrorist). I go to high school so best way to define your self in school and make a friend, that's why I joined different kind of clubs after school like I have Asian Club, Honor Society, Community Service and some others.

                              

So off course I had a different kind of meeting in those clubs, that is actually pretty fun thing because usually American loves Pakistani food, so me and my some of the Pakistani friends took some paki food for them so they can taste it or those who never had Pakistani food so it's a good experience for them.
What we did that we play some different kind of games on the sari and traditional dresses like who is gonna wear right something like this, and we did dance little bit like a traditional one.
   The one of the favorite thing about Americans is they love henna Tatto; like trust me once I but that on my hand and second day every single person in the school stopped me and asked to put that thing in there hands or they said it's so pretty how you did that?? And actually I did pretty much time to my friends hands, my sisters and my mom's hand.

I don't know but trying a staff is never be wasted for you, and no matter you got success in your journey or not, but still you got to learn a lot. What exactly I learn here in America, this is true learning small thing is not a big deal, but a small thing make a big thing too. The journey of America is huge, living in your same environment is boring, we need to change, at least our house, our community, our country nad our world. I learned here that how much change is good for us, but yah change in a good way or you can say Better Change.

      For exchange students we got a different kind of programs to participate and learned more, I selected for one of those, that was a really nice experience the program called "BETTER UNDERSTANDING FOR BETTER WORLD". I got a chance to meet students and got change to make friends from 35 different countries to share our culture with them and learned for them. Life is just crazy, but still we loved it because it's our so now we need to understand that it's our world we live here together, we really need respect for us for others for everyone, no matter what the religion is???

     Once again I am really thankful for everyone who help me to make my exchange year wonderful!!!

Unforgettable Exchange Year

Hi everyone, It's me Rameesha Ishtiaq from Karachi, Pakistan.One of the Culture Ambassador from KL-YES from batch-10. I'm living in USA for one academic year. The experience in US is really small to explain  in a blog because it's so much to tell, but still I love to share with all those people who have some kind of bad issues and concern about all that.

I have one awesome family, two little cute sisters, loving mom and caring dad. I had 3 months with them, my school is wonderful, the high school teachers are really nice to me they help me a lot in every step where I really need someone, because as an exchange student you have to take a US History subject and I hadn't any idea about that but that work pretty good. My host family is actually playing big role in my exchange year to support me, to trust me, to believe me, to appreciate me and always feel proud to be their daughter.

Well last month we went Missouri for the wedding, I never had American marriage ceremony before that was a pretty good experience about all of that. Well now a days I have a fall break, and just had a first camping experience, truly that was pretty good time I never had before. We been to Wisconsin for that and spend 6 days there, so there were some elders people to, I mean none of them in my age, I was already so scared because of the darkness of the jungle, never been like that the, but second and third day I felt more comfortable with them because even no one know me, still people love to talk to me asked questions about me, about my culture and country. Off course I am a Muslim girl and sitting with them, they have lots of the question about me, thing is every single person has some kind of misconception about someone, same as our country people have the bad image about US and same as US people have a bad image about us like Muslims.

Everything going were great but on 4th day, I saw some of the people are making something like thread, woods, tubacco all staff, and than they asked me that are you coming Sweatlodge, so I was confuse because I don't know what sweatlodge ctually is? Then my mom told me it's a kind of American prayer they called their GOD grand father, in tent they put big stone in to the fire for heat when they warm enough they put in the tent and close it totally and perform there prayer, sing song and other staff...

So they have some special kind of dressess to wear and ther thing, I did only for experience and after that I realize that how amazing that was, first experience about American culture was super cool. Learning about other people is never be bad thing to do. Thanks a lot to being with me and thanks my family to support me, to trust me, and for all those staff what you all ever done for me.
